1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using RootMap (“the Service”), operated by Invocation Technologies LLC, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
RootMap is a web-based family tree and heritage preservation platform. The Service allows users to create visual family trees, upload media, record life events, and collaborate with family members.
3. User Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you upload to RootMap, including photos, stories, and family data. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to host, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and your invited family members.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Premium features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis. All payments are processed through Stripe. Prices are listed in USD and may be subject to change with 30 days' notice.
6. Free Trial
New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be billed. After the trial, your subscription will automatically renew at the selected plan rate.
7. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to upload illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these terms.
8. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days before permanent deletion.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Invocation Technologies LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
