• Usage data: How you interact with the app, including pages visited and features used.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve RootMap, including:

• Operating your family trees and storing your media
• Processing payments and managing subscriptions
• Generating AI-powered family narratives (premium feature)
• Sending transactional emails (account verification, invitations)
• Improving our services and fixing bugs

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Family members you invite: They can view and contribute to shared family trees.
• Service providers: Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), and cloud storage for hosting your media.
• Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Row-level security policies ensure users can only access their own data and trees they have been invited to.

5. Your Rights

You can request to export or delete your data at any time by contacting us at support@rootmap.app. You can also delete individual family trees and their associated data from within the app.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies only for authentication session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
